| Time Again to Break the Silence |
|
On Saturday March 8, 2008, OneLife Institute was pleased to co-sponsor a special day-long symposium with Dr. Vincent Harding, hosted by Inner Light Ministries in Soquel, CA.
The event was centered on Dr.
Martin Luther King’s landmark speech, "Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence." Dr.
Harding, the author of that speech and a foremost authority on
the Civil Rights Movement, was an intimate colleague of King who
encouraged him to speak out against the war. He joined
Inner Light's founding minister, Rev. Deborah L. Johnson, and OneLife's Dr. Liza Rankow for a community-wide dialogue exploring the speech and its relevance to our contemporary struggles for personal and social transformation.
OneLife board member and music minister, Valerie Brown, and Dominion a cappella ensemble were featured as part of the musical inspiration anchoring the day's activities.
